I was never really one to keep a diary or journal. I love to write, but not about my feelings. Still, I’ve found over the last year of so that blogging is a great way to relieve stress and reflect on things. It worked well for me. So, naturally, after I found out I was accepted into Teach for America, i decided I would start keeping a blog about my experiences. And I have been for about 7 months now.
I followed TeachForUs on twitter but did not post here (despite the seeming reality that everyone from TFA was on the site) because I had already set something up at blogspot and am not one for change. Its kind of funny that I’m so against change that I wont switch blogging sites, but I’ll move to a completely new city, where I know no one, to teach for two years with almost no training. I guess I’m a little strange like that.
Anyway, I finally decided to start blogging on both sites. One, just to not completely stop using the site I already have. Two, so that my experiences are exposed to more people who will, hopefully, find the information useful to themselves. I’m not going to repost everything from my other blog because it would take too long. But, if anyone should feel so inclined, the site is www.tfacharlotte.blogspot.com . I reflected a lot on the end of college, induction, institute and the first few days of Round Zero. Maybe you’ll find what I have to say to be interesting. Maybe not. It’s up to you to decide. I’m simply here to share my experiences, opinions and thoughts. And to vent (just a little).
